LOVE and PARROTS
Krysteen’s Novel
About how we become who we’re meant to be.
Love and Parrots is centred around two women in their fifties, Julie and Neena, best friends since high school days.
It’s the story of how Julie leaves her controlling, abusive husband Greg, learns to love and accept herself and finds the love of her life - Nicky.
It’s the story of Neena and the messy and challenging journey she navigates with Sean, her husband, as parents of Taylor, their transgender teen.
It’s about the transformative power of love – especially self-love, and being brave enough to live the life you want.
Finding the courage to be seen when you’re a bright parrot cloaked as a grey pigeon, in a world where pigeons make the rules.
